Welcome!

Chars Art Fund was created by George Atkinson to celebrate his wife's passion for teaching art. Charlene Atkinson, a lifelong public school elementary art teacher, has always believed in the power of art in young people's lives.

Now retired, Charlene aims to empower the next generation of public school elementary art teachers to have the resources to encourage the creativity of today's young artists.

Often when we donate to a specific program, we lose track of how these resources result in beneficial outcomes. In the spirit of transparency, I wanted to ensure you know how donations to Char’s Art Fund were used by the Tanque Verde School District over the last eleven years.

During the last 11 years, generous gifts have continued to enrich the art programs in the Tanque Verde School District.

Students directly benefit from art experiences they otherwise would not have had.

The Tanque Verde school board has been a valuable partner with Char’s Art Fund in supporting art programs, especially by funding full-time art teachers.

This year, because of your generous donations, Char’s Art Fund will expand to all district schools!
